Affiliate Marketing Programs are special programs that many companies offer to promote their products. The way it works is that when you sign up to be an affiliate, you are able to put links to the sites and when people click on the links - you get a small percentage of the sale! It couldn't get much easier than that but the trick is finding the best programs/products to promote and also having an effective website that will help you promote them.

The products you choose to promote must go well with they topic of your website or you can find products to promote and create a website to promote them. Either way, the best way to promote affiliate marketing programs and products is to create a content rich website about something related to the product or service and not just put links to the affiliate products randomly on your website. The main thing to know about promoting affiliate programs is that you have to really read their terms of service and follow their rules. Many will require that you have privacy policies and comply with the FTC guidelines for promoting affiliate programs which says that you have to tell people that you are an affiliate.

There are also many other ways to make money online through things like pay per click ad programs like Google Adsense write your own book and promote it.
