If you want a website for your business (local or worldwide) or to create a home based business it is worth it to take your time and learn about things like search engine optimization and getting your website found by the search engines. 2. Choose a niche or topic for your website. If you are trying to create a website that will make you money, the keyword research will help you in deciding on a niche (topic) to write about.

3. If you already have a business such as a local or even global business, you will still need to research keywords and create a plan for your website.

4. Choose the best domain name. The keyword research will help give you some ideas for domain names but there are also a few other things to consider.

5. Creating website pages that are optimized for the search engines. Search engine optimization (SEO) is really fairly straight forward and easy once you get the idea. It is all about using keywords in the names of your pages and in the page itself. It is learning to use something called meta-tags in your pages. Meta-tags are an invisible part of the page that only search engines look at and will let them know what is on your page.

6. Create quality Website Content. No matter what type of site you are creating- one for your business or one to create online income- content is KING online. It isn't about being a good writer, but more about just being able to write the way you would talk to someone. Content will help you promote your business and build trust. You can create content rich sites on various topics and just make money from the content itself by using things like Google's Adsense Program

7. Getting website traffic. The best way to get the search engines attention is to get other sites to link to you or to create links on other sites that go to your site. It is called getting backlinks or inbound links. Learning to build a website is also about getting it found.

8. Making money from home with your website. Even if you have a local business, your website can be making you money while you are at work. You can also create websites on various topics for the purpose of making money online. There are many ways to do that. You can make money with Google Adsense (pay per click advertising), writing your own ebook, selling other people's products (affiliate marketing) and getting companies to sponsor your site.
