Learn HTML
Anyone can learn HTML really. HTML is short for Hyper Text Markup Language. A markup language uses a set of defined keywords called tags which are surrounded by angle brackets like < and > to make web pages more robust and engaging. It is basically the language that you need to know when creating websites. Actually you don't really need to know it if you are using software that does it all for you. HTML editors will do the work for you and create the code to make your pages look the way you want them to. There are also many online systems that just let you type and create pages. Some of the common HTML editors are programs like Dreamweaver, Front Page ( yes ancient but I still use it for another site because it is easy), CoffeeCup. There are many others that you can use too. Most are easy to learn but yes you will have to read the manual! The system I am using here (Site Build it!) does most of the work for you but you sill can enhance your pages when you know a little HTML. When I first started out I actually took a class in it. It is really simple to learn and use. You can usually get by with just knowing the basics but it can really help when something isn't working right you can look at the code to know what is going wrong. I also later found a great tutorial to learn HTML that is still online today (but watch out for the video ad pop up!)This takes you step by step through learning basic HTML to create tables, links and most of the basics. I also have been collecting some of the most common HTML codes that I use often when creating websites. I have it here for you to download all in one pdf file.
