Social Media
Social Media has done more for our communication systems than we can ever really know. Social media is defined as anything that using highly accessible and scalable communication techniques including web-based and mobile technologies to turn communication into interactive dialogue. We have more interaction than ever could have been imagined. But is there a cost to having less in person and direct contact with people? More people are using social media software such as Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and Google + to create social networks where you can follow what is happening in other peoples lives and get the latest information from businesses. When I first joined Facebook, I thought it was quite voyeuristic in nature and I still feel that way. I know more about people's lives than I sometimes care to know - when their pet dies, what they had for dinner and if they are sick in bed with the flu. These are people I have never met! Social Media Marketing is a full time job and a career for many. Promoting your business through social media is a necessity today. Keeping up with the latest in all of the social media platforms is a full time job - how does anyone get anything done? People are engaging in their primary relationships online rather than in person. How much is lost with not hearing a voice or seeing a face in pain or joy is obvious. But here we are in the throws of social media blitzes. New apps and software are being created every day. Learning to create and maintain your online social networks to ensure privacy and safety is always an issue. Here is more information on using the various services: - Using Facebook
- Using Twitter
- Using Linkedin
- Using Google +
