Start Online Business

Anyone these days can start an online business - really! There are so many opportunities and ways to make money. Having an online business is a good way to create 'cash flow' as Robert Kiyosaki says. Having regular monthly income from various sources can help you survive in any economy.

Whether you have an idea or not - the place to start an online business is with doing some keyword research to see what people are looking for online. The internet is about information, information, information. When you have a website that provides that information -it is like having a little gold mine in your backyard (computer!).

You can start with some topics like your favorite hobby, past time and what you are an expert in. Even if there are other sites out there doing the same thing you can still create a good solid site that gets traffic and makes money. The best way to research topics is to use Site Build it! and their software called Brainstormit! There are some other things you can do to begin the process though before even using SBI! that I have outlined in this section on choosing a niche. The basic idea is to find a topic that has a lot of interest (good keyword demand) and a lower number of other sites out there doing the same thing. Even if you can't find that exact sweet spot, you can begin learning about the process of creating sites and making money online.

After you have narrowed down a topic you will also need to plan the pages of your site and how you will make money. There are many ways to make money these days online - write a book or ebook, sell other people's products (affiliate programs), use Google Adsense pay-per-click ads (whenever someone clicks on the ads you get paid! This requires a high content and high traffic site!) or find regular sponsors to advertise and promote your site.

You will then have to create the actual website. To get traffic to your site it is a matter of creating pages that are optimized for the search engines and targeted with specific keywords. There are many components such as choosing the right domain name, using the keywords strategically and also getting other websites to link to you. You will have to keep on top of the changes going on with the search engines like the last year of Google Panda updates. (Google is trying to improve their search results but it often ends up weeding out even the good sites so you need to know what to do to deal with those changes. Don't expect this to happen overnight. It takes time to build traffic and find the right concept or niche to make this all fly.
